Places of Interest Nuneaton

Just a short drive away from Coventry, Leicester, and Birmingham, Nuneaton offers a huge variety of things to see and do. The birthplace of George Eliot, a Victorian writer, the town was once an important area for the mining and quarrying industry. Today, it draws in visitors from all over the world thanks to its range of entertainment.

Arbury Hall is one of the most prominent places of interest in Nuneaton. It has been owned by the Newdigate family for over four centuries. Set within 300 acres of parkland, the hall is only open to private tours in the summer months and on Bank holidays. You will be blown away by the Gothic Revival interior, and the stunning views surrounding it.

If you like to take in the history and culture of an area, head to the Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery. Situated within the Riversley Park flower garden, the museum was first opened in 1917. There is a gallery dedicated to George Eliot, alongside a writing room, puppet theatre, and musical instruments that you can play.

Take a walk in nature at the nearby Hartshill Hayes Country Park. Offering over 130 acres of open fields and woodland to explore, the park provides unbeatable views over the Anker Valley. A café and playground is provided for children in the school holidays, and deer are known to roam in the forest. If you head there on a quiet day you may even spot them!

These are just a small selection of the things you can see and do when you visit Nuneaton. Other attractions to consider include the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, Mount Judd, Anker Wood, and Sutton Cheney.
